It is the posthumous realization of Harvey Kurtzman's ambitious concept, originally conceived in the 1950s as an early graphic novel. Writers Josh O'Neill and Shannon Wheeler expanded upon Kurtzman's extensive adaptation notes. Illustrator Gideon Kendall brought Kurtzman's vision to life using his breakdowns and stylistic choices.
